The client’s architect wanted to use limestone in an Ashlar style pattern. So we worked very closely with the client and architect and came up with a pattern that could be repeated without being to noticable that it still was a pattern. Also wanted to design it so it wasn’t to complex and time consuming so we could fit into the clients budget. Between the quarry and our stonemasons we were able to cut the stone to certain sizes to make the pattern.
The stone was Mt Gambier limestone, rock-face finish. Not only was the stone used on the outside of the building it was used as a feature wall with the stairs floating out of the stone leading up to the second story.
This house was brilliantly designed and was recognized for some awards.
