This project shows how you don’t have to build your entire home from stone, you can just do certain sections or feature walls and still get something that may fit in your budget better.
For this project the client’s sourced the stone themselves, It was very similar to the paddock rock you get scattered around farms. Using hammer and chisels we worked the stone to fit into each other giving it the random effect. If you think of it as a jigsaw puzzle, rarely a piece would fit without working it. We laid the rock using a mortar mix against a timber frame using ties to secure it the house.
They used the same rock for a fireplace inside creating a beautiful feature for the home.
